– Pork belly – Fine sea salt – Black pepper – Ginger – Garlic cloves – Honey – Soy sauce – Dark soy sauce – Cider vinegar – Red chili flakes – Green onion
Season the pork belly by removing the skin, cutting it into cubes, and rubbing it with salt and pepper for a flavorful taste.
Heat a large cast-iron skillet or heavy-bottomed pan on high heat. Fry the pork cubes for 5 minutes on each side.
When flipping, reduce the heat to medium-high. If the meat gets too brown, reduce the heat to medium. Remove the cubes with a slotted spoon. Then, discard the fat accumulated in the pan.
Sauce: Whip up a quick sauce while the meat cooks. Grate ginger and garlic, then mix with honey, soy sauce, cider vinegar, and chili. Stir for a flavorful blend.
Mix: Return the cooked pork belly to the pan and pour the sauce. Stir on medium-low heat for 2-3 minutes until the pieces are glossy and coated, and the sauce reduces to perfection.
Garnish: Serve immediately sprinkled with green onions. For the best results make sure you read the whole recipe!
